These multi-colored training zones are related to your individual effort or training intensity, which are expressed as a percentage of your HRmax (max number of heart beats per minute). So when you’re hitting a sprint and happen to look up at the screen and notice that the box with your name in it turns red, know that you are in the correct training zone and working between 90-100% of your HRmax (or just look at the big number under your name). Essentially, the harder you work, the faster your heart beats. And the faster your heart beats (due to your effort), the more calories you burn!
